Medela's parent company, Medela AG, has manufactured breastpumps in Switzerland for almost 40 years. Research and development activities are conducted at Medela headquarters in Switzerland and at Medela Inc. in Illinois, USA. Medela products are manufactured in Switzerland and, for specific applications, also in America. Sales, rentals and consultancy are handled by subsidiaries across the world.
Since 1979, Medela has been providing superior-quality based breastpumps in North America and breastfeeding accessories to nursing mothers. Medela Canada has been a subsidiary since 1995.
